Leviticus 10:6 And Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar his sons, Do not uncover your heads nor tear your clothes, lest you die, and lest He be angry on all the people. But let your brothers, the whole of Israel, mourn the burning which YHWH has kindled.
Assignment for April 10, 2010: Be careful that your emotions don’t lead you to neglect your responsibilities to those around you. Keep close tabs on your feelings this week. If you sense that anger, resentment, sorrow, jealousy, or some other emotion is pushing you away from some task or decision on which you know other people are depending, make a conscious choice to fulfill your responsibility in spite of your feelings.
Check back and post your thoughts and experiences. Next week I’ll post a new assignment derived from Tazria-Metsora.
If you want to try this with us, tell us how it goes.
I know this is from God because my emotions have been in a “run-away” state for The last three days. I have prayed and had long conversations with the Lord. I have asked the Holy Spirit to guide and direct me, to show me how to place it all in His hands–and, lo, here comes your study. I will do my best to “fulfill” the assignment–but I need help! Please pray for me. I want my emotions to be ruled by the Most High–not by my circumstances. Thanks for allowing me to participate!
I will check back at the end of the week and let you know how it goes! Have a blessed week
Jay~
I think that this sounds like an awesome assignment. Count me in. With work as it is, it will be interesting to see how it goes.
Many Blessings
One person reports that he was asked to help in a project at school, then the project grew and became very inconvenient. He really didn’t want to participate anymore, but did it anyway because his classmates were counting on him. He was complimented by his teachers on how hard he worked that day.
Another person had decided to do something to prevent a particular wrong, but as time went by, it seemed less urgent. Although it didn’t feel so pressing anymore, he decided to go ahead with his plan anyway because it could spare other people some pain in the future.
